As co-founders of the Children’s Activities Association, The Creation Station is helping children get involved in a range of fun and educational activities across the UK during Children’s Activities Week. This is an exciting NEW national event celebrating the hundreds of thousands of activities, clubs and classes benefiting millions of children every day across the UK. These activities help to develop children’s creativity and help them stay fit, healthy, engaged and happy. The Creation Station DBS checked, health and safety, first aid and safeguarding trained leaders across the UK have signed up to bring you lots of creative fun.

Rocketv1

The Children’s Activities Week’s mission is to:

  • Showcase the huge range of activities which take place every day throughout the country – from sport to languages, science to yoga and art, to bushcraft and the fantastic teachers and coaches making it all happen.
  • Raise vital funds for two fantastic causes – Caudwell Children is committed to giving disabled children a brighter future by providing the life-changing practical and emotional support they need to lead an active and independent life. The Children’s Activities Association (CAA) is the first not-for-profit, industry-led independent organisation to raise standards in all organised children's activities and at last offers parents, schools and nurseries a swift way to get peace of mind when making their choices.
  • Highlight the positive impact children’s activities have on physical and mental health and well-being for children (and for parents) along with the huge potential benefits developmentally, educationally and socially, that participating within activities can bring. This is at a time when concerns around childhood obesity and levels of screen time rarely seem to be out of our press.

With the focus on FUN, hundreds of thousands of children will be dressing up to attend local Creation Station activities and other clubs around the theme '#WatchMeFly'. Look out across social media for a wealth of bees, pilots, butterflies, dragons, rockets, ladybirds, superheroes, fairies and more, all in celebration of the week and all the exciting things taking place.

Cbeebies

There will also be amazing competitions, planned visits by VIPs – such as sports personalities and Olympians – to clubs and classes and a world record attempt with Sid Sloane from CBeebies. Participants from anywhere in the UK can sign up and join Sid at 10.15 on Monday April 30th, as we blast off Children’s Activities Week in style with the record-breaking attempt to engage as many children as possible from around the country in the 'Copy Sid' song to kick off #CAW2018.

Sid Sloane

Sid will then be visiting two Creation Station classes along with other kids’ clubs and classes, ending with a guest appearance at ‘Under 1 Roof’ in London, as the exciting week comes to a close. Both the record attempt and 'Sid's Tour' are sponsored by Morton Michel.

Thousands of children’s activities and around 200,000 children are expected to participate. Children’s Activities Week is set to be the most inspiring and remarkable event of its type ever witnessed in the UK.  The children’s activity or group which raises the most money for charity and shows the most energy and passion for the week will be rewarded with a very special prize – a visit from singer, TV presenter and personality Peter Andre.

Sarah Cressall, Founder and Managing Director of The Creation Station said, “With the squeeze on creativity in education and increasing concerns about obesity we are delighted to be supporting children and families with creative fun during the week. Being creative and playful together is a fantastic way to connect and have fun with your child and to build your child’s confidence and problem-solving skills.”

A wealth of sports personalities and celebrities including Peter Andre, Sid Sloane, Annabel Karmel, John Farnworth and many more are also supporting Children’s Activities Week.

Sid Sloane, CBeebies presenter comments, “I’m a huge fan of the CAA and their fantastic work to ensure our children’s services meet a quality assured standard, and I can’t wait to get involved with all the fun during Children’s Activities Week!”

Peter Andre comments, Singing, dancing, sports, art; these are all the things that I enjoyed growing up and I now enjoy sharing with my children. Shining a spotlight on the opportunities for children to learn new skills and express themselves is a great idea and raising funds for a fantastic charity like Caudwell Children makes Children’s Activities Week 2018 a really worthwhile event; I’m delighted to be on board.”

Trudi Beswick, Chief Executive, Caudwell Children added, “I’m so excited about the prospect of Children’s Activities Week 2018, it is going to be a fabulous event. Caudwell Children provides the practical and emotional support children need to lead active and independent lives, helping them to reach their full potential. Together with the Children's Activities Association and every activity provider involved, we are going to attract the attention of the nation and showcase what amazing things can be achieved when you give children the helping hand they need to follow their dreams. With these shared goals and the combined strength of all of us working together, we can achieve great things. Stand back everyone and watch us fly!”

Children’s Activities Week will run from April 30th to May 4th 2018 UK-wide.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Today me and my daughters participated in two free taster sessions with Kelly via Zoom. One was for babies and the other was for children of a similar age to my four year old. Kelly was so so friendly and that really came across even through a screen. I loved the variety of activities the girls did, each creating a very different name plaque and one princess mirror. The bags were delivered last week which gave me time to look through them and just made everything smooth and organised. We are defiantly interested in further sessions around yearly events such as Christmas. If the virtual session today was as good as it was I can only imagine how fun and engaging a real life face to face one would be! Thanks again Kelly!!?

Excellent session and good value-…

Excellent session and good value- especially with the £4 refreshment credit. My children had a lovely time and it was such a beautiful location too. Lovely to finally be able to get out to a group after all these months of lockdown so thank you to Kelly for being inventive and finding a safe way to do this during this crisis. We are looking forward to the next session!

My little girl loves creation station

My little girl loves creation station. She talks about all her creations when she gets home and it helps that the wonderful Kelly is so patient and kind with all the kids! It gave me the confidence as a parent to try new crafts with scissors (eeek) and glitter (double eeek)! The sessions are so much fun!

Creation Station Halifax

My six year old son has just had his third online session of creation station. All the materials were delivered by Claire ready for the sessions. He has loved trying to guess what he will be using each week. The instructions given by Claire online are easy for the children to understand and good cultural links. Bailey has really enjoyed getting creative and can’t wait for the next session.
