We're passionate about nurturing creativity

We’re here to help make a positive difference, to inspire imaginations and nurture creativity.

You see we believe the greatness is already within each and everyone of us. Sometimes it just needs a little love and recognition to really let it shine.

This is our purpose – our ‘why’.

We help unleash the wonder within, through fun and educational arts and crafts, classes, parties, events and products. We are very proud to be a multi-award-winning, five-star rated company, and we inspire over 14,500 children and families every week with our creative arts and crafts experiences across the UK.

Our journeys of discovery, exploration and development unlock ideas through our fun, hands-on activities, products and of course a little bit of sparkly glitter.

Our range of experiences aren't about here's one we made earlier. Oh no – we're here to spark each child’s or adult's natural curiosity, to help each person create their own fun journeys of exploration, discovery, self-learning and development.

Our unique approach is based on inspiration from a wide range of influences, including: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences developed by Dr Howard Gardner, Steiner Waldorf, Maria Montessori, Edward de Bono's 'Creative Thinking' and Emilio Reggio's '100 Languages of Children' and also what we have learnt from the children and adults who we are privileged to spend time with.

Our Story

You could say it all started with a lack of chocolate.

As a little girl, Sarah Cressall was inspired by her mum to achieve whatever she put her mind to. For eight-year-old Sarah, this meant more chocolate. Sarah wrote a comic with the superhero being a well-known chocolate bar. The lovely people of Cadbury’s sent her a big box of chocolate.

Sarah learnt the power of believing in yourself and having a goal even when you have no idea how to achieve it.

From here, Sarah achieved a successful career in management and then decided to pursue her passion for creative activities. She became a designer maker including commissions for Greenpeace and a mural at Charing-Cross Station. Sarah developed and ran workshops for people with head injuries and disabilities and saw the hugely positive effect of creative activities.

When Sarah became mum to Sam, Ollie and Josh, she recognised the lack of activities that nurtured each child's own individual curiosity. It seemed more about putting information in rather than nurturing what was within to blossom.

Sarah developed educationally based creative arts and crafts programmes, with the support of her three boys, Sam Ollie and Josh – the chief testers (!), Duncan her husband, and her tech-savvy sister Fran Long.

This was back in 2002.

It went well and there was more to do. Demand was high and so Sarah worked with the British Franchise Association and when Josh started school in 2007, Sarah awarded her first franchise to Louise Radford.

The demand for creative activities continues to increase and year on year we have listened to our customer requests, increased our range of activities and extended our UK coverage.

Sarah now leads a proactive creative hub head office team based at the gorgeous Inspiration House, Creativity Drive, in Woodbury Devon. Here you will find a sizzling pot of talent, enthusiasm and creativity. We take our fun pretty seriously and are dedicated to high levels of services, research, development, training, ongoing support and health and safety.

We are really proud of our ever growing family of V.I.P (Very Inspirational People) – friendly franchise owners who deliver exceptional creative experiences within their local communities. They’re a pretty amazing team, hardworking, fully trained and DBS checked. Our franchise owners can be found right across the country from Orkney in the North of Scotland to Kingsbridge in Devon. They are raring to go with oodles of energy and enthusiasm, armed with paint, glue and glitter to inspire you and your child.

Ideas are the currency of the 21st century and we are doing our very best to ensure we know how to nurture creativity and unlock potential.

We are proud to inspire the nation's imagination with our core values

Have Fun

Ensure Quality

Spark Curiosity

Inspire Imagination

Nurture Creativity

Give Care

Have Fun

Fun is infectious and we provide shared fun experiences that help to bond and unite parents/carers with their child or children, as well as sharing experiences in a social group to help connect and develop friendships.

Ensure Quality

We are committed to consistently high standards in our sessions, products, professionalism, safety and trust. We believe in quality positive experiences that earn us the respect and recommendations with every relationship we nurture and build. For us, quality means the challenge of continuous improvement to help inspire imaginations and to support our communities and partners and all those who share this passion.

Spark Curiosity

Practical hands on learning opportunities provide fun ways to experiment, explore and discover. Helping each child and parent/carer to expand their thinking and value each moment.

Inspire Imagination

We do this by providing journeys of exploration and discovery, enabling each child to be inspired by their natural curiosity and to imagine how ordinary things become extraordinary. We help to start each journey, allowing each child to discover and explore in their own way. This is how children develop their imagination and it is the foundation for creativity.

Nurture Creativity

We are here to help nurture each child’s creativity and to help them develop their own ideas which we recognise and value.

Give Care

We are privileged to help and share in the magic of childhood and our caring will make a positive difference in the lives of children, for our partners, colleagues and the world we find ourselves in today. We are passionate about being authentic and going the extra mile for other people and exceeding expectations because it feels right and because we care.

Fab class, recommend to all!

Lisa prepared and delivered everything required for the zoom meeting in plenty of time, ensuring I was organised for the class which ran soo smoothly and my daughter, who has just turned 3, loved it and making lots of lovely things in an hour was amazing. Looking forward to the next class already, although plenty of extras in the box to keep us busy until then.

Virtual party

I wasn’t sure how to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with the current restrictions and I don’t regret doing a virtual arty party at all! Nicola was absolutely amazing at hosting my daughter’s virtual 6th birthday party and all the girls really enjoyed it! Nicola was really good at keeping in contact and explaining how it would work. Would definitely recommend and will look at doing another party again in the future.

Family fun!

Lovely relaxed session for the whole family, Alix very friendly. Crafting not an easy thing to do via zoom, but it worked well. Children especially excited at the prospect of being in the Guinness book of records?

Sparking my inner arts and crafts hobbyist

Absolutely love these classes. I was first introduced to these from another baby group leader, I wanted to take my little boy to some different groups. When we were allowed to go, we went to the baby groups in Westhoughton. It was a very warm welcome that made us feel so comfortable in a new group. Everything was explained fully on what we had to do in the groups, even providing protective clothing for the clothes for my little boy. After this, I have gotten to know the group leader a little and now started to join in monthly arts and crafts zoom meetings with other ladies who enjoy this. I never thought I would start a hobby doing this but I LOVE IT! I’ve now made 2 things and am waiting for the March class to make more. It’s something to take my mind away for a few hours and do some creating. I was always so interested in arts and crafts when I was young but now this has got my mind buzzing. Thank you for your groups and lovely leaders! It’s been brilliant doing these groups in lockdown!
