Over the years I’ve been fortunate to have a passion to inspire imaginations and also work alongside many people who are passionate about this too. So I wanted to share with you some of the things that’s we’ve been getting up to behind the scenes and explain why I have had bats in my belly!
We're updating all our Creation Station leaflets to really communicate the value of shared
fun creative journey’s. So to capture the essence of the shared fun we converted our training room into a studio, filled it with some wonderful children, parents and child-minders and a lot of glitter! Matt Austin, took some great photos. So I’m still finalising the leaflets – it’s taken longer than I hoped, but I really needed to understand how best to communicate the value of creativity - I’ll keep you posted about this. We've added some of the images to our facebook so click here to see
Still on the filming theme we were delighted to be asked to show some easy low cost ideas to do with children over half term for a Mumsnet and Barclay card Shop Talk chat
show. So I was feeling a bit nervous - like I had 'bats in belly', as against butterflies! So off I went to London with spooky milk carton ghosts and decorated vegetables! If someone had stolen my bag they would have got a bit of a spooky surprise!
It was fab to meet the inspiring Andrea McLean (from Loose Women amongst other things), Katie O'Donovan from Mumsnet and Emily Leary - top blogger. It was also great to meet 'This is Dare' and 'Across the Pond' film producers, my big thanks go to everyone who helped get rid of my bats! We’ve been having a bit of a spooky time with creative Halloween ideas. Jude, our in house Creative sparkler, has created loads of activity ideas – if you haven’t seen our enjoy creative fun blog head over as there are loads of ideas and fun things to do.
As I am sure you know, creative activities are such a great way to inspire children. To help with
this, we have a big promotion on our Facebook giving away a FREE Art Birthday party. Pop over to our Facebook and like our page as this competition launches soon. Our franchise team also have lots of local classes running too, so you don't have to wait for a birthday to enjoy creative fun!
Amongst all this fun stuff we have been inundated with enquiries for people to grab part of the government funding to help start up their own Creation Station or Create Club franchise. In fact we are about to take on another person to help with the calls. We’ve even had to add in another date for our free Discovery Event where people can come along and find out more - so we're of to York on 9th November and Exeter on 30th November. I do love these events, Maggie (or as we call her magic Mag's) does a fab job organising everything. We get to meet really inspiring people and to do a bit of gluing and sticking too - Perfect day! We now only have a few spaces left on our November training for new franchise owners and may have to run a December training session too - which is all great news.
So that's my news to date. There is the 'big storm' brewing outside, so I'm about to light the fire in my front room and have a movie afternoon with Duncan and our boys. That's the great thing about bad weather it's an excuse to do something fun together indoors!
Hope your week is inspiring
