Marbling eggs 2

Easter is upon us and with this fun craft activity you can create an Easter centrepiece for your table and everyone can get involved in the making.

People all over the world are celebrating Easter by eating chocolate eggs, going on egg hunts and inviting friends and family over for an Easter meal.

This year make your table stand out with this lovely decoration that will wow your guests because of its unique design as no 2 eggs will come out the same.

The children will love marbling too as it's a lot of fun and you can mix and match as many colours as you like. Have a go at creating this awesome centrepiece that is so easy to make, it will make you want to marble everything you see!

You will need:

  • Polystyrene eggs
  • Marbling inks
  • Ribbon
  • Drawing pins
  • Water
  • Plastic container/tub
  • Gloves
  • Scissors
  • Willow

Alternatively keep scrolling for step by step instructions :)

Step 1:

Cut approx 30 cmm of the willow and stick the egg on top.

Step 2:

Add marbling inks to the water in the plastic container. Put in 10 drops to start off with, add as many drops in as you want. The more you add, the more consistent colours will look.

Step 3:

Cut off a little bit of the willow to use as a stirring stick to create your unique patterns on water.

Step 4:

Put on gloves and carefully dip the egg in the water solution. Marbling inks are oily and very tricky to get off so use gloves and be careful as the egg will jump back up.

Step 5:

Make a bow from the ribbon and attach it to the top of the egg with a drawing pin. It will be easier to dry this way.

Step 6:

Hang up and leave to dry for approx. 15-20 minutes.

Creation Station Halifax

My six year old son has just had his third online session of creation station. All the materials were delivered by Claire ready for the sessions. He has loved trying to guess what he will be using each week. The instructions given by Claire online are easy for the children to understand and good cultural links. Bailey has really enjoyed getting creative and can’t wait for the next session.

Create club

My son has really enjoyed taking part in the after school clubs and the online sessions during lockdown. Nicola is lovely and Archie looks forward to all the sessions. The materials provided are high quality and the sessions are just at the right pace for the kiddies to follow. I would recommend them to anyone, they are educational too which is a bonus. The baby sessions are great too xx
