Easy crafts at home with kids - How to make a crab - #Make it Monday

Our #MakeitMonday videos are a fun and creative craft for you to try at home with your little one, and this weeks'  is great fun, easy to do and great to play with again and again! This week we are making a pipe cleaner crab!

You will need:

Paper cups
Paint
Googley eyes
Pipe cleaners
Glue
Scissors
and five minutes with a grown up!

Step-by-Step guide:
Step 1 - First you want to paint your paper cup, make sure to paint it all and get a good even amount across it.

Step 2 - Make two holes in the top of the paper cup using the scissors - be sure to ask for a grown-up for help on this bit - scissors are sharp!

Step 3 - Cut the pipe cleaners to size and feed them into the holes.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 along the sides of the cup for the leg - be sure to space the holes evenly and bend the legs to fit.

Step 4 - Googly eyes! Using a small amount of glue - stick the googly eyes to the top of the pipe cleaners you attached first - this will give your creative crab eyes!

Step 5 - Be sure once your crab is dry to give him a big smile and maybe even a nose! Then, play!

We loved our first experience at The Creation Station

We had a great time making Christmas cards. Debbie was so helpful with everything, even whipping out the playdough and toys to keep some of the younger children entertained. We will be back again next year. Highly recommend Debbie and her fantastic workshop!

Sharon was brilliant with all the children. She arrived early with everything needed to make the party easy and fun for us all. The children really seemed to enjoy focusing on the craft activities and the time given to each activity was well pitched for them (we had a group of 5 year olds)

Arty Party

Chantal and Liz delivered an excellent Arty Party for my daughter’s 6th birthday. There was great communication in the run up to the party and the afternoon itself ran smoothly. They were very organised and professional - everything needed for the arts and crafts was supplied by them and I didn’t have to think about anything. They kept the children (aged 3-8, girls and boys) interested and engaged throughout the 2 hrs (with a gap for food part way through) and the magic box (from which each activity was produced) was very popular! There were also some lovely personal touches, such as a personalised poster for my daughter with her name and birthday on, that the children coloured in together and a video compilation of photos of the activities (only my daughter featured which Chantal asked persmission for first) as a memento. Had lots of comments from other mums about how good a party it was - and a refreshing change from the sometime manic discos etc. Overall very happy and would highly recommend :-). There are also a wide range of activities to chose from so something for everyone.

My little boy and I love Creation Station. Sarah is amazing with the children and at helping the adults who are artistically challenged. She includes everyone, she is very relaxed and makes the whole class very fun. The time flies by every week.
