Preschool sessions ’could take place at nationwide science festivals’

Parents around Britain could be contending with a weekend full of bangs, crashes and explosions as the National Science and Engineering week kicks off tomorrow (Friday March 13th).

Oxfordshire, Newcastle, Manchester, Cambridge, York and Leeds will be hosting science festivals which could give parents working from home the opportunity to help children learn about the world around them through creative arts and crafts activities.

Science City York is planning to host family days over the weekend, with a science trail on March 29th as well as numerous events focusing on discovering more about subjects ranging from the history of astronomy to penguins.

Newcastle Science Fest will be kicking off with a mass hula hooping session in the city centre. Children will then have the chance to see how square balloons are made or ponder why jelly babies make such good stuntmen with TV's Brainiac scientist Dr Bunhead on Saturday March 20th.

Parents looking to take their children to any of the science festivals around the country can find more information online.ADNFCR-2563-ID-19664499-ADNFCR
