The Creation Station is proud to have been chosen to support a government backed charity that supports young Mums and Dads to be.

ymtb.jpg‘Young Mums to Be’ is a national charity that supports pregnant teenagers across the UK. It aims to enable and support young parents through their pregnancy. By completing the course, the mums will also achieve modules towards NVQs.

The Creation Station has been chosen to support  The Nationwide Community Learning Partnership – NCLP,  by providing fun and easy ideas for their young Mums and Dads to use within the craft unit of the Young Mums and Dads To Be Programme. The young parents  will then have ideas and activities to do with their new babies which will support bonding and to encourage fun learning through playing together.

The Creation Station receives The Creative Leicestershire Award

creative_leic_logo.gifSarah Cressall provides hands-on-creative discovery for one to five year olds and their parents through her Creation Station. Based in Loughborough, she runs weekly exploratory workshops in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, including Loughborough, Quorn and Mountsorrel. She started her business around her kitchen table when she had her third child in 2002. "It was all about creative fun together. There was nowhere you could do that sort of fun hands on stuff, where parents could play with their under five year old child or children, without any hassle or mess in their own home" she said.

Sarah likens it to a performance: “The children al put on their splash suits so their arms and legs are covered, then with the help of magic words... the box opens! From there it's very much driven by the children. I have learnt so much about how different children and parents interact."

The business allows Sarah to drop the children off at school, pick them up and still get the admin and the shopping done and help out at the school parents group.  Sarah has previously been self employed as a designer and teaching art and photography, she has worked in business contract catering. Her immediate aims are to work up more sessions and streamline the business as a franchise.

"I have already received several enquiries from women who want to do something rewarding and stimulating within school hours. However I want to get the business systems and support in place before I award the Creation Station franchise to suitable candidates"
